Ready Start St. Tammany: Enhancing Early Childhood Education
Our organization offers a wide range of services aimed at supporting child care centers, early childhood education, family engagement, and professional development. We strive to enhance the cognitive, social-emotional, language and literacy, and motor skills of every child, taking into account their unique needs and abilities.
At Ready Start St. Tammany, we are dedicated to promoting continuous improvement in early childhood education through various means such as classroom coaching, assessments, and accreditation and certification support.
Type III Child Care Centers
St. Tammany's Ready Start Network (RSN) offers 41 early childcare and education sites with Type III classification. This means that your child will receive a high-quality Tier 1 curriculum and benefit from measured teacher-child interaction.

Academically Approved Family Child Care Centers
St. Tammany offers three academically state approved Family Childcare Centers (FCC). FCC’s are located within the providers home with a maximum of 6 children. FCC’s participate in the state’s quality rating system, childcare assistance program, and are eligible for incentives and supports through the St Tammany Early Childhood Ready Start Network.

Does Your Child Qualify for Tuition Assistance?
Tuition Assistance Programs
St. Tammany offers three programs to help families with tuition assistance.
Louisiana’s Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) provides qualifying families with financial support for child care services. CCAP helps families, with a parent or legal guardian who is working or attending school or job training, pay for high-quality child care for children under the age of 13 or children with special needs up to age 18. CCAP pays for a significant portion of the child care costs, and families pay the difference charged by the provider.
Louisiana’s Child Care Assistance Program B-3 (CCAP B-3) provides qualifying families with financial support for child care services. CCAP B-3 helps families, with a parent or legal guardian who is working or attending school or job training, pay for high-quality child care for children ages Birth-Three. CCAP B-3 pays for all of the child care tuition and families pay registration and fees.
Nonpublic School Early Childhood Development Program (NSECD) provides pre-K programming to four-year-old's to qualifying families. Children in the NSECD program receive full day pre-k. St. Tammany Ready Start Network has three NSECD participating child care centers: Children's College, Little Feet First (Old Spanish Trail location), and The Little Academy.
